Getting Started
Your first steps in Cursus — from first login to your first program.
This guide walks you through getting Cursus set up for your organization. If you haven't requested access yet, contact us to arrange a demo and onboarding.
Step 1: First login
Navigate to app.cursusapp.io and sign in with the credentials provided by your administrator.
After login, you'll land on the Hub — your personal starting point showing today's organizational pulse, Lumen's daily briefing, and quick access to the modules relevant to your role.
Step 2: Complete the onboarding wizard
If you're the first administrator in your organization, the onboarding wizard will guide you through:
- Organization profile — Name, industry, size
- Change philosophy — Select your framework (ADKAR, Kotter, Bridges, McKinsey 7-S, or Custom)
- Stakeholder groups — Import from HRIS or create manually. These are the groups that will receive change load scores and readiness assessments.
- First program — Set up your first active change initiative with key details and impacted groups
This takes approximately 15–20 minutes for a basic configuration.
Step 3: Import your organizational structure
For the most accurate change load and network analysis, connect your HRIS:
- File upload — CSV export from Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, or any HRIS
- API integration — Direct connection for supported HRIS platforms (contact us for setup)
At minimum, the import needs: employee ID, name, department, manager ID, and location.
Step 4: Invite your team
Go to Settings → Users to invite CoE practitioners, leaders, and executives. Role assignments determine what each user can see and do:
| Role | What they can access |
|---|---|
| Admin | All settings, integrations, user management |
| CoE Practitioner | All programs, portfolio views, Lumen copilot |
| Leader | Their team's intelligence (scoped), Lumen coaching |
| Executive | Portfolio pulse, strategic briefings, read-only |
Step 5: Create your first change program
Navigate to Programs → New Program. Cursus uses natural language intake — describe the program in plain English and Lumen will extract the key details, suggest impacted stakeholder groups, and pre-populate the program structure.
From there you can add:
- Change impacts (role, process, technology changes)
- Milestones and phases
- Stakeholder group assignments
- Planned interventions
