Admin Setup Guide
Configure your organization profile, users, change philosophy, integrations, and privacy defaults as an administrator.
This guide is for the first administrator in your Cursus account. Complete these steps before inviting other users.
Organization profile
Go to Settings → Organization → Profile to set:
- Organization name — used in Lumen briefings and any communications sent through the platform
- Industry and size — used to calibrate change load benchmarks
- Primary timezone — affects scheduling defaults and signal collection windows
User management
Invite users from Settings → Users → Invite. Each user gets one role. Roles cannot be stacked.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Admin | All settings, integrations, user management, privacy configuration |
| CoE Practitioner | Full CRUD on programs, portfolio views, Lumen copilot, org intelligence |
| Leader | Leadership portal (scoped to their team), Lumen coaching, change briefings |
| Executive | Org Pulse, strategic briefings, approval workflows — read-heavy |
Roles determine both what data is visible and what actions are available. A leader cannot see data outside their configured scope. An executive cannot edit program data.
Change philosophy
Go to Settings → Organization → Change Philosophy and select the framework your organization uses:
- ADKAR — Individual-stage model (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement)
- Kotter's 8-Step — Leadership-driven, urgency-first
- Bridges Transition — Psychological transition emphasis
- McKinsey 7-S — Systems-thinking, cross-functional
- Custom — Your own methodology and terminology
The change philosophy shapes how Lumen frames coaching and recommendations. It does not affect how scores are calculated. You can change it at any time without affecting historical data.
Integration settings
Integration setup lives in Settings → Integrations. Available connectors:
- HRIS — File upload (CSV/Excel) or API connection for supported platforms
- Communication platforms — Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Slack, Google Workspace (metadata-only by default)
- ERP systems — Adoption telemetry from SAP, Oracle, Workday
- Calendar — Meeting pattern analysis via Microsoft Graph or Google Workspace
Each integration has a status indicator (Connected / Not configured / Error). Credentials are encrypted at rest. See the Connecting Integrations guide for detailed setup steps.
Privacy defaults
Cursus ships with the following privacy defaults:
- Aggregation threshold: 5 (minimum group size before any metric is computed)
- Ambient signal collection: off until explicitly enabled per source
- Individual data visibility: never surfaced in manager or executive views
Administrators can increase the aggregation threshold but cannot lower it below 5. Configure these settings in Settings → Privacy & Data.
